Why does justyce walk all the way to find Melo

Justyce responds to a 3 a.m. call that his ex-girlfriend Melo needs help. He walks over from his friend Manny’s house because Manny refuses to drive him. In the text, we learn that, "Manny’s of the opinion that Melo’s “the worst thing that ever happened” to Jus, so of course he refused to give his boy a ride."
