How does Raskolnikov plan to prove his superman theory?

Raskolnikov is obsessed with the idea that he is a "superman", and as such, is not subject to the laws that govern ordinary humans. He has even published a a paper on his theory. To prove the theory, he plans to kill an old pawnbroker, a man who Raskolnikov views as worthless.
