What are the motifs in Crash by J. G. Ballard?

Mortality and sex make up a recurring idea in the story. Even as Ballard becomes obsessed with car crashes, he begins to obsess over sex as well. However, it is not just sex that Ballard obsesses over. It is sex in a car, sex with other crash victims, and sex with victims whose sexual organs were somehow altered in their car crash.
