What is the author's style in Corps 02: Call to Arms by W. E. B. Griffin?

Although Call to Arms is a fiction work, Griffin based many of his characters and events on actual people and actual things that took place during World War II. The loose basing of these dealings gives the novel a "real" feel and actually provides the reader with knowledge of World War II and some of the tactics used in this very life changing war.
