Ghanima is Paul-Muad'Dib Atreides' orphaned daughter. She and her twin brother Leto are nine years old when the novel begins. The children live at Sietch Tabr, and they ate guarded by the Naib Stilgar. They also sit on the Royal Council, which is controlled by their Aunt Alia, the official Regent.
