Who is Brian's parents from Brian's Hunt and what is their importance?

Brian's parents do not appear in this book, but Brian refers to them regularly. He says he doesn't hate them, as it might seem from the fact that he doesn't want to live with them. In fact, he says he loves and appreciates them, especially because they understand his need to be in the wilderness.
