Seeking inner peace is a recurring idea. Every religion and philosophy posits a path to inner peace, that coveted condition in which an individual appears to be able to withstand whatever comes his way and to move forward without negative emotional responses. It appears that these individuals are able to remove themselves from the world around them, to go within, and to know that all things of this world are passing.
