Who is Briar in Bone by Jeff Smith?

Briar is Gran'ma Ben's sister, and the character responsible for leading Briar's family to their deaths. Before dying, Thorn's mother succeeded in cutting Briar in half, but the Lord of the Locusts brought her back to life. She might be lucky to be alive, but she has constant companionship from the locusts that stick around to hold her together.
