What is the theme in Big Blonde by Dorothy Parker?

One major theme in the novel is that of beauty, or more specifically an individual's perception of their own beauty. Over the course of the novel, we see Hazel come to define her own beauty as the way in which others perceive her.... she loses her identity, and even as she gets older embraces those things she believed made her attractive to men in her twenties.
