In the novel, Being with Henry, the section titled 'dreams and lies' refers to the dreams that people have, goals that they have, for their life. What a person wants changes and shifts, which it does for the main character. The lies are those that we tell to ourselves when it comes to dreams. Are the dreams really ours? Or are we lieing to ourselves about what it is that we really want?
