Who is the antagonist in Batman: The Dark Knight Returns by Frank Miller?

There are many antagonists in Batman: The Dark Knight. Each villain becomes the new antagonist and have their own reasons for doing what they do. Many of the villans do it for money or fame but the Joker does it just because he can, this makes him supremely dangerous.
