Inclusion is a recurring idea in the book. The name-brands, exclusive locales, and celebrities who populate the pages of "Back in Black" take the reader into an exclusive world they might not otherwise be able to access. The consequence of this is the highlighting of those who are "inside" and those who are "outside." Sam and Anna, for example, are clearly "inside" as Sam's father has put them on the list for a variety of exclusive events.
