The main conflict in Anansi Boys is centered around Charlie and his brother, Spider. Charlie and his brother are polar opposites; one is good, the other evil. This sets up the classic struggle. Spider wants to destroy everything and revel in the chaos, whereas, Charlie wants things to be happy and nice, and peaceful.
