Who is Mrs. Murray from Agnes Grey and what is their importance?

Mrs. Murray is Matilda and Rosalie's mother. Her main concern is the marriageability of her daughters. Agnes is unhappy with her (Mrs. Murray) because she wants Rosalie to marry Sir Thomas Ashby, even though she knows of the man's reputation and that her daughter will not have a happy marriage.
