Selina Dawes from Affinity is a trance medium who has moved to London to study the 'art' with her Aunt. However, when her Aunt dies she is left to fend for herself. She does a reading for a wealthy older woman, Mrs. Brinks, who is taken with her invites her to live with her in her estate. While there she seduces and conspires with the maid, Ruth. Selina, after she is incarcerated still conspires with Ruth to escape and run away together.
