Former state president of the NAACP, E.D. Nixon, was also a protest leader in Montgomery, Alabama. Nixon posted bail for Rosa Parks, and he was a leader in the call for a citywide bus boycott. His support of King was welcome. Nixon's home was the second home to be bombed, one day after the home of Dr. King, during the early days of the boycott.
