E.D. Nixon was a former state president of the NAACP. He also serves as a protest leader in Montgomery, Alabama. Nixon posted bail for Rosa Parks, and he led the call for a citywide bus boycott. King welcomed Nixon's support. Sadly, Nixon's home was the second to be bombed during the early days of the boycott. King's was the first.
