How does the author use foreshadowing in A Tempest: Based on Shakespeare's The Tempest, Adaptation for a Black Theatre?

In Act II, Scene I, Prospero promises to free Ariel, leading Caliban to respond that talk is cheap because he does not trust Prospero. This foreshadows Caliban's continued rebellion, as well as his continued imprisonment after Ariel regains his freedom.
