Mickey Rafferty is a Hollywood stunt man. Over the course of the novel, he witnesses what he believes to be a mob payoff. Thinking it will spark Candy's career (he believes Candy to be his girlfriend). In the end, Mickey is killed to keep him from turning evidence.
