As an Indian why should I read the book "A Passage to India"

I certainly understood more about the socio-cultural elements that went along with the British Raj. Although Dr. Aziz wanted a measure of equality and respect with the British in India, he ultimately fails. The shadow of colonialism and the inherent racism that is part of colonialism makes equality impossible to attain.
