Titania is asleep in the forest when a group of actors, practicing for th wedding festivities, enter in order to practice. They squabble about the details of how to present it and what would be appropriate. They begin to practice. Puck comes upon them and delighted to find so many 'fools' abounding decides to have some fun. He turns Bottom's head into that of a donkey. Everyone is afraid and runs away. Bottom declares his bravery and refuses to move from the enchanted spot. Titania wakes (and due to a potion in her eyes) falls in love with Bottom (who still looks like a donkey).
