Who is Perrin Aybara from A Crown of Swords and what is their importance?

Perrin is a ta'veren. He is traveling with Rand in the beginning of the story, but soon he and Rand have a fight and Rand sends him away. Perrin intends to go and continue to work to help Rand despite their harsh words.

Perrin is a blacksmith, although he has the capability of communicating with wolves, a fact that he keeps secrete from as many people as he can. Perrin is a loyal friend and through much of the story spends his time worrying about either his wife or Rand.
