the ghosts show scrooge that the greed and the want he has for money blinds his love and compassion for others. By the first ghost reminding him of how he lost belle (because of his greed) is the first step in his transformation to stop suppressing the goodness and kindness within him. The second ghost brigs back the compassion in scrooge's life by showing him tiny tim an knowing that he will die some day soon and scrooge can help that and he hasnt been helping the poor and people in need of there basics needs to survive like food water and medicine. And the third ghost scares scrooge by showing him that no body will care that he has died not even fred his nephew will feel empathy for him and the way people will think of him after hes gone as a cold greedy man that has not an ounce of warmth in his body.
