It is to treat people equal. i think
Palliative care is not about treating people equally. It means giving maximum comfort to a sick persons symptoms mostly by way of good pain relievers ,even while you know that the real cause of the sickness is not curable.
Good example is cancer patients in late stages of the diseases that are cosidered terminal illnesses.Usually deep seated pain occur so rather than watching the patient die of both the pain symptom as well as the incurable disease we give useful pain medications often of the opiod family or more recently nucynta, which is a combination drug.So it will be a painless death more or less.Euthanasia is considered wrong phylosopically because life itself is precious and a gift from God so no man as of today has the right to terminate it even the sick person. Moreover human history has a record of some miraculous haelings that defied known medical grounds and since it is not within the prerogative of men to ascertain a candidate for miracle the best way is to allow the person to die off naturally instead of,'mercy killing' which is euthanasia ,peradventure at the lat minute the miraculous could just happen.
