Charlie's life does not change for the better (except for Ms. Kinnian) because he learns that everyone that he thought were his friends have really only been making fun of him. He also begins to remember a lot of traumatic events from his childhood, and because of his adavanced intelligence he fast arives at a point where no one can underrstand what he is saying.
