What is comical about the family in “A Good Man is Hard to Find”?

What is comical about the family in “A Good Man is Hard to Find”?  What qualities about them are meant to be taken seriously?  Does this seem like a genuine story or is the plot too coincidental?  If this story is an allegory (see page 2173), what do the Misfit and the grandmother represent?  What are obvious examples of foreshadowing concerning death in the plot?
