Reading Teams is an exciting and interactive method used to promote reading in a classroom. Students learn to cooperate, accept responsibility, and collaborate ideas during each session. This method can be applied to any grade situation including split grades. Each member of a team plays a different position or role, has designated responsibilities, and works cooperatively with all team members in order to be on a successful reading team. Some of the reading roles are: Conference Coach, Conflict Buster, Word Wizard, Map Maker, Famous Phrases, Forming Judgments, Private Investigator and Mood.
