Bingley comes to Longbourn again soon to visit Jane while Darcy is out of town on business. Bingley finally proposes after spending several entire days at Longbourn, and everyone is very happy for Jane.

Jane learns that Bingley loved her when he left Netherfield the first time, but that Bingley believed that she didn't love him and that he never knew that she was in London or he would have come to visit her. Elizabeth is glad that Bingley didn't tell Jane about Darcy's role in all of the misunderstandings because she doesn't want Jane to dislike Darcy.
