Act 2, Scene 2: "The same"
Borachio tells Don John about Claudio's intended marriage with Hero. Don John is so enraged with his brother's friends' happiness that he wants to make trouble. Borachio has a plan.
He is in love with Margaret, Hero's waiting gentlewoman. They plan to show their affections towards one another in obvious view from Hero's window. Borachio plans to call Margaret by the name of Hero so that people will think Hero is unfaithful. Don John must bring Claudio and Don Pedro outside the window to see this disloyal act so that Claudio will be so angry and hurt that he will call off the wedding. Don John loves the plan and will follow it.
