TV Guide has announced the nominees for its Online Video Awards. The Awards are intended to recognize the best and most innovative professional video programming being created for the Web. The nomination list was compiled by TV Guide editors, and the winners will be chosen by fan voting, at www.tvguide.com/videoawards.
The awards will be handed out on Dec. 1 in Santa Monica, California at the Barker Hanger, with a two-hour special television program produced by Bob Bain Productions, to air several days later. An outlet for the awards has yet to be announced.
In a press release announcing the nominees, Rich Battista, Gemstar-TV Guide's chief executive officer said, "It's exactly the right time for the Online Video Awards. As you can see from our list of nominees, there is a wide range of innovative and high quality Web-only programming currently being created and we're excited to be among the first to single it out for recognition. We're looking forward to the outcome of fan voting in these 18 categories and to a terrific event, and a very entertaining television special."
