Actor Rhys Meyers arrested in Dublin: reports
DUBLIN (Reuters) - Irish actor Jonathan Rhys Meyers, best
known for his role as English King Henry VIII, was arrested by
Irish police at Dublin airport after being drunk and
disorderly, Irish media reported on Monday. Irish media said he
had been arrested on Sunday at the airport after breaching the
peace and was later released on bail.
Kidman says scared of crash in paparazzi car chase
SYDNEY (Reuters) - Hollywood star Nicole Kidman said on
Monday she crouched on the back seat of her car, tearful and
frightened that it would crash as she was pursued by a
paparazzi photographer in Australia in 2005. Kidman told the
New South Wales Supreme Court that her driver John Manning said
the photographer pursuing them, as they headed to her parents'
Sydney home on January 23, 2005, was driving recklessly, had
run a red light and jumped a concrete divider.
Alex Rodriguez named American League MVP
NEW YORK (Reuters) - Slugger Alex Rodriguez won the
American League Most Valuable Player award for the third time
in five years in balloting by the Baseball Writers Association
of America announced on Monday. Rodriguez, who also claimed MVP
honors in 2003 and 2005, led the major leagues with 54 homers
and 156 runs batted in for the New York Yankees last season.
Scott Weiland plans to write memoir
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Rock singer Scott Weiland said on
Sunday that he has a publishing deal to write an autobiography,
but is feeling overwhelmed by the prospect of chronicling his
eventful life to date. "It's a weird thing," the Velvet
Revolver frontman told reporters backstage at the American
Music Awards. "You make a lot of records, write a lot of songs,
but all of a sudden you go into a whole different vein, and
it's a little bit scary to dive into."
