Two Pakistani team members were being questioned Saturday by Jamaican police investigating the death of World Cup cricket coach Bob Woolmer but the men have not been detained, the team's spokesman said.

Investigators were speaking with the team captain Inzamam-ul-Haq and assistant coach Mushtaq Ahmed in the Montego Bay hotel where the cricket team is staying, spokesman Pervez Jamil Mir told reporters.

"Either the police overlooked something or they wanted to come back and talk a little bit more," he said. "We're not going to take it to extremes to say that they might be detained or anything."

But Mir said: "It is worrying."

The 58-year-old coach was strangled last Sunday in his hotel room, a day after Pakistan's humiliating defeat to Ireland forced a first-round elimination.

The questioning of the squad members came a few hours before all but two team members were expected to depart the Caribbean island. Pakistan Cricket Board operations manager Asad Mustafa and trainer Murray Stevenson have agreed to stay in Jamaica to look after Woolmer's interests.

Woolmer's body will stay in Jamaica pending a coroner's inquest.

On Friday, team members submitted DNA samples to Jamaican police. Players had already supplied fingerprints to investigators.

Jamaican police have said more than one person may have killed Woolmer in his 12th-floor room at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel and police are reviewing security camera footage. Authorities have not named any suspects in the killing.

The nature of Saturday's questioning was not known and police spokesmen did not immediately return calls.

Meanwhile, two Pakistani diplomats headed to Jamaica Saturday to help investigate the coach's mysterious death. Mir said the two are diplomats from the embassy in Washington.
