AP News, May 29th, 2007

Matthew Broderick will portray a man at sea, adrift in a mid-life crisis that unfolds in "The Starry Messenger," Kenneth Lonergan's new play, which will receive its world premiere during the 2007-2008 season at Manhattan Theatre Club.

Casting and its playing schedule at MTC's Stage I will be announced.

Lonergan, whose other plays include "Lobby Hero," "The Waverly Gallery" and "This Is Our Youth," will direct. He and Broderick are friends, and the actor has appeared in Lonergan's 2000 film, "You Can Count on Me," as well as his new movie, "Margaret," which also stars Anna Paquin and Matt Damon.

"The Starry Messenger" concerns a married, middle-aged man who works at New York's Hayden Planetarium and his involvement with a younger woman.
