Home to the infamous 2 Live Crew, as well as Trick Daddy and Trina, Liberty City and its inhabitants are no strangers to the P-word or the controversy that comes with boldly proclaiming your love, hate, or infatuation with a woman's private part. With that level of familiarity, Kohn, aka Jacki-O, released her erotic single and video titled-gasp!-"Pussy." ("Nookie" is the clean version.) And now the rest of the world has taken notice of the tune that's been whetting the South and Midwest for months.
Up-and-coming producer Red Spyda became instantly enamored when Kohn rapped for him. "She was just raw, and I knew I had to get her working on something," Spyda remembers. "There are not too many females voices that don't get annoying after a while."
But Spyda is only one of the heavyweights who gladly contributed to Kohn's debut, Poe Little Rich Girl. Timbaland, 7even Aurelius, and Jazze Pha also man the boards, while Southern mike brigands Ludacris and Trick Daddy add their lyrical nuggets. "I'm a poe girl, but rich in life," Kohn says of the album's title, which completely contrasts with her own ambitious moniker. After all, Jacki-O is borrowed from the beloved former first lady known for her beauty and fashion sense. "I loved Jackie Onassis," she says, her eyes widening. "She wore the tweed jackets, the little pump heels, and the hats-always classy, beautiful, and glamorous. She was just the realest bitch."
While this Jacki's potty-mouth image is closer to fellow Dade County MC Trina than to a privileged Kennedy, Kohn insists her music is more than X-rated rhymes. "I don't want people to think my album is all about pussy," says the female temptress, whose other songs broach such topics as getting betrayed by her lover ("Sleeping With the Enemy") and saluting thugs in the street ("Outta Control"). "It's about expressing yourself. I wanted to get people's attention, and that's what I did." Never underestimate the power of nookie.
