Experts worry about copycats after high-profile shootings. Here is a look at mass shootings and school shootings in the United States in recent years:

April 16, 2007: Seung-Hui Cho, 23, kills 32 students and faculty members at Virginia Tech and then kills himself.

Oct. 2 , 2006: Charles Carl Roberts IV, 32, shoots to death five girls at West Nickel Mines Amish School in Pennsylvania, then kills himself.

Sept. 27, 2006: Duane Morrison, 53, fatally shoots one student and then himself at Platte Canyon High School in Bailey, Colo.

Sept. 24, 2003: John Jason McLaughlin, 15, fatally shoots two at Rocori High School in Cold Spring, Minn.

March 5, 2001: Charles "Andy" Williams, 15, kills two at Santana High School in Santee, Calif.

Dec. 26, 2000: Software tester Michael McDermott, 45, kills seven people at a Wakefield, Mass., Internet consulting company, Edgewater Technology Inc.

May 26, 2000: Nathaniel Brazill, 13, kills a teacher in Lake Worth, Fla.

Feb. 29, 2000: Six-year-old boy shoots and kills 6-year-old classmate at Buell Elementary School in Mount Morris Township, Mich.

Nov. 19, 1999: Victor Cordova Jr., 12, shoots a 13-year-old girl in a Deming, N.M., middle school.

Nov. 2, 1999: Copier repairman Byran Uyesugi, 40, fatally shoots seven people at Xerox Corp. in Honolulu.

July 29, 1999: Former day trader Mark Barton, 44, kills nine people in shootings at two Atlanta brokerage offices, then commits suicide.

April 20, 1999: Eric Harris, 18, and Dylan Klebold, 17, kill 12 students and a teacher at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colo., before killing themselves.

May 19, 1998: Jacob Davis, 18, opens fire at a high school in Fayetteville, Tenn., killing a classmate.

April 24, 1998: Andrew Wurst, 15, kills a teacher in Edinboro, Pa.

March 24, 1998: Andrew Golden, 11, and Mitchell Johnson, 13, kill four girls and a teacher at a Jonesboro, Ark., middle school.

Dec. 1, 1997: Michael Carneal, 14, kills three students at Heath High School in West Paducah, Ky.

Oct. 1, 1997: Luke Woodham, 16, of Pearl, Miss., fatally shoots two students.

Feb. 19, 1997: Evan Ramsey, 16, fatally shoots the principal and a student at Bethel High School in Bethel, Alaska.
