8 a.m. The Lower Manhattan Development Corporation board of directors will meet at their headquarters at One Liberty Plaza.

8:30 a.m. The Fordham Conference will discuss the ethics of stem cell research at the McNally Amphitheatre, 113 West 60th Street.

9 a.m. The Landmarks Commission will hold a public hearing for The New York Historical Society building at 170 Central Park West and two apartment buildings at 1 Centre Street. View the announcement for more details.

9:30 a.m. The Board of Corrections will hold a public hearing on proposed changes to minimum standards at city jails at the City Planning Commission hearing room, 22 Reade Street.

9:30 a.m. The Assembly Standing Committee on Real Property Taxation will hold a public hearing on real property tax assessment practices at the legislative office building in Albany.

10 a.m. Alberto Gonzalez will testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee. Watch it live on C-SPAN3.

11 a.m. There will be an anti-Wal-Mart tax day protest at the James Farley Post Office, 421 Eighth Avenue between 31st and 33rd streets.

11 a.m. Secretary of the Interior Dirk Kempthorne will speak at the 6th Annual Ellis Island Family Heritage Awards ceremony at the Ellis Island Immigration Museum on Ellis Island.

Noon. Protesters will march from the Iranian United Nations Mission on Third Avenue and 40th Street to the Isaiah Peace Wall at First Avenue and 43rd Street, then across First Avenue to the U.N., where rabbis will block the entrance to protest the Iranian nuclear terror threat.

Noon. Grandmothers Against the War will hold a tax day protest at the West side of Fifth Avenue, between 49th and 50th streets.

12:30 p.m. The Coalition to Raise the Minimum Standards at NYC Jails will hold a protest to proposed Board of Correction revisions at the Legal Aid Society, 49 Thomas Street.

12:30 p.m. Rep. Charlie Rangel will speak at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C.

6 p.m. Same-sex marriage advocates will hold a tax day protest outside the Farley Post Office, Eighth Avenue between 31st and 33rd streets.

Rudy Giuliani will speak at Regent University in Virginia Beach, Va.

John McCain will fundraise in Atlanta.

Mitt Romney will headline a Virginia GOP fundraiser in McLean, Virginia.
