Tamika Catchings had 16 points and a career-high 11 assists to lead the Indiana Fever to an 86-70 win over the Chicago Sky on Sunday night.
Catchings, an All-Star starter, also had seven rebounds and seven steals. She moved into third place in WNBA history in steals with 474, surpassing Nykesha Sales and Yolanda Griffith.
All-Star starter Anna DeForge and reserve Sheri Sam scored 14 points and Tammy Sutton-Brown added 13 for the Fever.
Reserve guard Cathy Joens led Chicago with 16 points. The Sky waived the rookie on May 24 and re-signed her on July 5. She scored 10 points in the first quarter, four more than she had scored in her brief WNBA career.
Candice Dupree had 13 points and nine rebounds for the Sky, but she shot 5-for-14 from the field.
Indiana (13-4) has the best record in the league with two games remaining before the All-Star break. Chicago (8-10) lost its second straight.
The Fever shot 49 percent from the field and held the Sky to 35 percent shooting.
Indiana led by 30 points in the third quarter and 70-49 at the end of the period.
Chicago's Stephanie Raymond made two 3-pointers early in the final quarter to cut Indiana's lead to 74-55 with seven minutes left, but the Fever held on.
Chicago didn't make a field goal for the first 3:19 of the game and the first 5:35 of the second quarter. Indiana led 38-26 in the second quarter, then closed the first half with a 12-0 run to lead 50-26 at the break. The Fever held the Sky to 28 percent shooting before halftime.
