Diamonds, champagne, celebrities and boomin' beats…Jermaine Dupri is in the House! Last night Atlanta lived up to its reputation as being the entertainment Mecca of the South. Homegrown international star Jermaine Dupri showed up with close friends Nelly, Usher and Monica to support a private event for Hurricane Relief at House of Cartier.
Invited guests walked a security-clad red carpet and entered House of Cartier which was literally transformed into an exclusive party palace by the legendary Tony Conway - black hanging drapes, passed hor d'voures, Cartier champagne and a thumping DJ made the event a classy, fly-casual affair.
Other notable guests included Kenny Burns of RyanKenny clothing, Atlanta Hawks' Kevin Willis, and Slim from 112. Dupri and Cartier collaborated to create a specially designed, limited series of eyewear to benefit an important charity to both, the Hurricane Relief Fund.
The eyewear combines rimless frames with bubinga wood, platinum finish and a fade lens. Jermaine Dupri's signature is etched in the lens and the frame is adorned with the classic Cartier "C" logo. The glasses are valued at $1,500. The eyewear was a favorite among the celebrities and just last night 13 pairs of the exclusive sunglasses were sold, with 10% of the proceeds being donated to The Atlanta Community Food Bank and City of Refuge – both local liaisons for the Hurricane Relief Fund.
According to Cartier Store Manager, John Terracino, "The party was a great success and we were so pleased with the attendance and support from Jermaine. There was so much excitement in the air…and we have a lot of sales pending." One of those sales is expected to be from Atlanta superstar Usher, who was admiring how the $375,000 Riviera Santos watch sparkled so perfectly on his wrist.
