Kevin Sheekey appears in the Michael Bloomberg deposition taken last Thursday in New York City, although he's never mentioned by name--only by his nickname, deputy mayor for running for president.
Here's the exchange between Bloomberg and the lawyers:
Q Before May 15, 2006, that's when Mr. Mickalis [the gun dealer] first learned through these press releases that he was involved in this, had you taken any steps or allowed any steps to be taken to prepare for a potential run or campaign for the Presidency?
MR. TABER: Prior to May 2006, or prior to the date Counsel has imposed of May 15, 2006, you may answer that question.
A I took no steps whatsoever.
Q All right. The second part of that was or allow any steps to be taken?
A There were no steps taken as far as I know.
Q Was there a lady going around trying to make sure you were able to get on ballots? I read her name somewhere and it escapes me.
MR. TABER: Again, the question --
Q Before -- before May 15, 2006?
A I have no recollection of any articles about any lady, and there was certainly no one that was empowered to do so.
Q Okay.
And I know you found it very flattering. Before May 15, 2006 was one of your Deputy Mayors teasingly referred to as the Deputy Mayor for purposes of Bloomberg for President?
A I have no recollection for sure, but it would be unlikely in that there was not much speculation at that time.
Q All right. That's before May 15. Now, let me ask you the questions after. Please wait on the objection. After May 15, 2006, have you taken any steps to prepare for a potential run or campaign for the Presidency or allowed anyone to take those steps on your behalf?
MR. TABER: Objection and instruction not to answer.
