THURSDAY: Labor Department reports on weekly jobless claims, 8:30 a.m.; National Association of Realtors reports on existing home sales for December, 10 a.m.; Freddie Mac reports on mortgage rates.

FRIDAY: Commerce Department reports on durable goods orders for December, 8:30 a.m.; Commerce Department reports on new home sales for December, 10 a.m.
