Character Descriptions

This section provides a short description of all the major characters in the book. Characters

Zlata Filipovic - This person was living in Sarajevo in 1992 and recorded the daily happenings of the Bosnian War.

Malik and Alica (Zlata's Father and Mother) - These people were concerned about daily survival and did everything they could to make sure their family's basic needs were met.

Mirna - This person left Sarajevo and returned soon after the war ended. This person also enjoyed playing the piano.

Braco - This person had a bad accident injuring his leg but recovered and joined the press corps to report on the war...
