Objective
Laila Ibrahim is the author of "Yellow Crocus." The aim of this lesson is to examine Ibrahim's life and writing and how she came to write the book.

Class Discussion: When did Ibrahim decide she wanted to write? Why didn't she ever write before? Is she planning on writing more novels? What advice does she have for those who wish to write? Why did it take her so long to begin writing? How much of a part of her life was writing before she began working on "Yellow Crocus"? Why was she surprised when she began to have a desire to write? Why does she believe she will write other books? How does she deal with writer's block? What does she like most about writing? What inspires her to write?
Activity: Divide the students into small groups. Have each group discuss this statement by Ibrahim...
