Chapter 1: The Craft

This book is an autobiographical book. The objective of this lesson will be to review some major aspects of Antoine de Saint-Exupery's life and to discuss how an autobiographical style affects the meaning and the feeling of the book.

Lesson

1) Provide a brief overview of Antoine de Saint-Exupery's life along with some of the major events in his life. Split the class into groups and assign each group one of the major events from his life. Instruct each group to study its event and write about how this event would have shaped his life and affected his writing style. Allow groups to present their information. Discuss some of the different ideas that are presented.
