Stimulating!

Antoine discusses all the different kinds of stimulation that humans crave. Split the class into groups and assign each group one of the facets of stimulation discussed in this book - i.e.: mental, physical, emotional, spiritual, intellectual, etc. Have each group create a collage that represents this kind of stimulation. Allow each group to present its work.

Short Stories

Antoine gets some recognition by writing short stories about people and experiences he knew in the past. Have the students write some stories of this nature. Allow some students to read their work, and discuss why this would have been so diverting for Antoine.

War Veteran Visit

Antoine talks extensively about the effects of war on nations and individuals. Take the students to visit a war memorial or perhaps have a war veteran talk to the students about their experiences.
