Object Descriptions
This section provides a short description of all the major objects in the book. This can be printed out as a study guide for students, used as a "key" for leading a class discussion, or you can jump to the quiz/homework section to find worksheets that incorporate these descriptions into a variety of question formats.
Objects
Stamps, Arkansas - The small town where Maya grows up.
The Store - This place represents Momma's power. She is one of the wealthier black people in town and is essentially a commercial center.
The junkyard - Here, for the first time, Maya is independent and surrounded by friendly people of all races.
The Well of Loneliness - A very famous lesbian novel.
