• While the rest of the camp circle moves the camp, Blue Bird walks away to give birth to a daughter who she names Waterlily, and after the baby is born, Blue Bird rejoins the group that has not noticed her absence.
• When the group stops for the night, Blue Bird locates her cousin and stays with her for the night, and as news of the birth travels, Waterlily's paternal grandmother visits Blue Bird and Waterlily, and although she knows her son will not be happy about Blue Bird staying with her cousin instead of returning to their camp, she believes it is best for her to stay with her cousin who helps Blue Bird with the new baby.
