• Glennon Doyle’s memoir/self-help book extols her emergence from society’s cages and her embrace of an untamed life.
• The narrative of the book is related from the author’s first-person perspective yet alternates between past and present tense.
• In the opening Prologue, titled “Cheetah,” the author describes going to a safari zoo with her wife and two daughters where a cheetah run was featured.
• The zookeeper brought out a retriever named Minnie and said that Minnie had been raised with the cheetah, Tabitha, in order to train the cheetah.
• The zookeeper released Minnie, who chased a stuffed rabbit tied to a Jeep, and then released Tabitha, the cheetah, who followed the same action.
