1. Why does Donovan want a refund from Ancestry.com?

Donovan uses Ancestry.com to trace his family's history. The site traces his history all the way back to the revolution. However, there is no one among all those ancestors who is a screw up like Donovan. So he wants a refund, because the only reason he traced his history was to find someone among his ancestors who was like him. He had hoped to find someone like himself, so that would explain why he is so likely to be in trouble all the time.

2. Why is Donovan in trouble so much?

Donovan is like a puppet on a string when there is situation right there in front of him. Then he feels like he simply has to kick, grab, shout, jump, paint, launch, or set on fire whatever is in front of him. He gets in trouble because he just doesn't think before he acts, he simply does what his impulses tell him to do.
