Character Descriptions
This section provides a short description of all the major characters in the book. This can be printed out as a study guide for students, used as a "key" for leading a class discussion, or you can jump to the quiz/homework section to find worksheets that incorporate these descriptions into a variety of question formats.
Characters
Captain Bordure - This character kills a king of Poland, paving the way for someone else to become the king.
Bougrelas - This is the sole surviving son of King Wenceslas and Queen Rosemonde.
Queen Rosemonde - This character tries to warn King Wenceslas by recounting one of her dreams.
Mere Ubu - Other than her outrageous husband, this is the only character in the play who exhibits more than two or three basic character traits.
Pere Ubu - This character is less than a king, even lesser than a traditional dramatic character.
