Object Descriptions

This section provides a short description of all the major objects in the book. Objects

The Marquesas - This place is a group of islands in the South Pacific inhabited by Polynesian natives.

Nukuheva Bay - This place is a bay on a nearly round island of about twenty miles diameter that has mountains in the interior and several other bays around the island.

The French Squadron, the French Navy - This group has taken control of a Polynesian bay and is slowly in the process of occupying the rest of the island.

The USS Dolly - This is a whaling ship from New England.
